I've been meaning to go to the Historical, Vintage & Classic Cars Museum of Kuwait. This week would have been the perfect time as they're organising a photo competition. Unfortunately I'm out of town and won't be able to make this one. If you're interested in participating, you will need to submit your entries by 12th May. I will try to make it for the exhibition.

Shame you won't reach it, bet you'd win it, just saying out of common sense, hehe. Anyways, I've been wanting to ask, do you have a photographer as your idol, or where your inspiration comes from?
Your comment is as nice to read as it is untrue :)
Inspiration comes from a beautifully-lit object, something colourful or with an interesting pattern and a genuine smile (usually from a child). Other than that I look at photographers' work all the time on flickr, twitter, galleries, magazines... wherever and whenever I can. I didn't study photography so I don't know who the true pioneers and icons are. However I did once see a portrait of Winston Churchill which I found myself looking at for hours and hours. I later found out it's by a renowned photographer (portraits in particular) called Yousuf Karsh. I'm only just dipping my toes into the sea of portraiture and I can already see that this man was a true genius.
This is his official website: http://karsh.org
and the wikipedia entry about him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yousuf_Karsh
Oh yeah, I remember having read about part of this guys biography about the Armenian war, but anyways, you've supplied me with a good read as his Wikipedia page was pretty descent compared to most.
I just came back here now because I came to think of something while reading this article in Gizmodo, maybe you should check it out. The link (http://gizmodo.com/#!top/5798062) will take you to their weekly/monthly photo contest, where they get judged in every single artsy way a photo can be judged by, hehe. Just thought it'd interest you and maybe winning one/several of those contest(s) could boost up your site readers and/or simply create some challenges within the photographing world that you didn't know existed.
